Yes you need to have a registered access to make bookings online, for yourself only or for yourself and others/Employees.

theHealthSourceIf you are only responsible for making bookings, do not deal with clients directly and do not have access to sensitive information, your profile can be configured to allow logon without a biometric verification.
If your role involves any access other than booking access and you wish to logon without biometric verification, your supervisor will need to approve the configuration.
